Description

Quasar sclera lenses are some of the most unique cosmetic contacts in the line. They are transparent in the middle, allowing your pupil to show through, but also part of your iris (most sclera lenses cover up the iris completely). The opaque edges which cover up the whites of the eyes are jagged around the iris. A mottled pattern of black, dark red, and light red surrounds the iris and the pupil, occluding the white. It is difficult to describe the effect as anything other than unnatural and uncanny. The effect is that your iris and pupil are swimming in a sea of bloody currents between your eyelids. The colors are dark and subtle, enhancing the realism of the effect—but you can be sure that these lenses will be noticed from a distance, covering up your whites as they do.

The eyes are the windows to the soul, which is why we look into others’ eyes for reassurance. And that’s why changing the appearance of the eyes to something uncanny can produce a far more upsetting and discombobulating effect than any other modifications. With sclera contact lenses, it’s effortless and comfortable—for you that is. For others, the sight of you will produce plenty of discomfort!
